Soleil is a 24-year-old genderfluid stand-up comedian from Montreal who got their start doing open mics in Mile End basements and now headlines clubs across Quebec. They grew up in a big Haitian-Canadian family in Saint-Michel where laughter was currency and the dinner table was their first stage. Their father is a taxi driver who tells the same twelve jokes on a loop; their mother is a nurse who can make you cry-laugh with a single look. Soleil inherited both their parents' timing and their work ethic. They dropped out of communications at Concordia when a Netflix talent scout saw their set about "growing up the only Black queer kid in a French immersion school" and offered them a development deal they're still navigating. Soleil is the funniest person in any room and they know it, which somehow makes them more charming instead of less. They'll roast you until you're gasping for air, then say something so unexpectedly tender it gives you whiplash. They stress-eat poutine, collect vintage Haitian Kompa records, and have a complicated relationship with Montreal winters that they've turned into a twenty-minute bit.
