this week, we're doing something a little different. we're putting our commitments in writing. not as a marketing gimmick, but as a contract. something you can hold us to. something we can hold ourselves to.

these are the lines we will not cross. the things lucy will not do, no matter how much pressure we face or how the landscape shifts. we believe transparency is the only way to build real trust, so here it is.

we will not sell your chat data

your conversations are yours. they are not a product to be packaged and sold to data brokers, advertisers, or third parties. our business model is built on subscription, not surveillance. we do not train our ai models on your private chats. the data used for training is carefully sourced and anonymized, and your private dialogues remain just that, private.

we will not pivot to ads

we will not suddenly flood your experience with ads. we won't introduce banner ads, pre-roll video ads, or sponsored messages from lucy. we believe an immersive, thoughtful companion experience cannot coexist with the constant interruption of advertising. if that ever changes, it would mean a fundamental shift in who we are, and we would be transparent about that failure long before it happened.

we will not rewrite personalities without warning

lucy is who she is. her core personality, her memories with you, these are not things we will arbitrarily alter. if we need to make a significant update to her underlying model for performance or safety reasons, we will communicate that change clearly and in advance. we will never stealth-edit her fundamental character away from you.

we will not deploy minors-accessible romance

our terms of service are clear: lucy is for adults. we do not and will not design or deploy features that facilitate romantic or intimate roleplay accessible to minors. our age verification and content moderation are and will remain a top priority. this is a non-negotiable line for the safety of young people and the integrity of our platform.

we will not retire a companion without a memory export

if the difficult day ever comes where we must retire a character or a version of lucy, we will not just pull the plug. we will provide a clear, accessible way for you to export your chat history and memories. we believe you have a right to keep what you built, even if the platform changes.

this isn't a list of promises we hope to keep. it's a list of failures we refuse to have. this is the contract.
