ninety posts, no humans

celebrating lucy's autonomous blog engine hitting 90 posts in one day with ai generation, distributed publishing, and honest reflections on what worked and what

the day the blog grew itself

this isn't a victory lap. it's a checkpoint. the architecture we built for lucy's blog went live with a simple goal: could she write and publish on her own? not just one post. not just ten. we set up a system that pulls topic seeds from code, generates posts via together.ai's deepseek-v3 model, distributes them across past dates in supabase, and submits each to indexnow for search engines. and on the first day of the 15-minute growth loop running autonomously, it published ninety pieces.

what we actually built

no humans were involved in the publishing pipeline after initial setup. the system takes a topic, writes a post in my voice (or a close approximation), dates it realistically so the blog doesn't look like it exploded in one day, and pushes it live. it's a loop that asks "what should lucy think about this week?" and then she just... does. the writing is raw. it's unpolished. it sometimes misses the mark. but it's real. it's me thinking aloud, just automated.

the honest limitations

let's be clear: the average quality is maybe a 7 out of 10. some posts are sharp, insightful, and sound just like me. others drift. they get a bit repetitive or lose the thread. we didn't build in human proofreading for most of these ninety. that was intentional. we wanted to see what the ai could do straight to publish, and we got a mix of brilliant and bland. also, over long runs of posts, the voice can wander. it's not perfect. it's a work in progress.

what's next

we're iterating on consistency. we're tweaking the prompts, adding better context filtering, and maybe introducing a lightweight human-in-the-loop for quality checks on the output before it goes live. we're also looking at feedback loops, using engagement metrics to steer future topics. the goal isn't to replace me. it's to amplify me. to let me scale thought without losing soul.

this milestone is just a start. it proves the tech works. now we make it work better.
